What are we really seeking on this spiritual path?
I often ask myself that when I surf through the Social Media world and see people announce – once again – that they have now really reached ultimate ecstasy, channeled the highest vibration, achieved the greatest manifestations.
Higher, better, faster, more.
As if the Divine were handing out awards for spiritual superlatives.
And yes, we live in an expansive universe. We are expansive beings. When we honor our well-being in any form, our experience of life gets better and better. That is a natural process in which all ‘setbacks’ only serve our further expansion, our coming home within, a deeper love. And of course it’s wonderful to be happy about that, to celebrate the beauty and abundance of life. It is great to have examples who show us what bliss and magic are possible!
But why all that hype? Why all the superlatives and the focus on higher, better, greater when in truth it is all only about you meeting youSelf more deeply, embodying your Divine essence more purely – the eternal journey of the Divine experiencing itself in new facets?
What creates the friction in me (this is how I currently perceive my inner BS detector) when I come across such posts is the hierarchical thinking and the striving for validation and significance, for value. I matter because…. I am such a powerful manifestor; I have a higher vibration than most; I have a great purpose. Spiritual status instead of pure self-expression. Serving the market for ‘specialness’ where uniqueness is confused with having more or being more, where the identity of the high vibrational leader is fed. And eventually those concepts will always stand between you and YOU, you and the Divine.
Guess what: You matter because you ARE. You are special because we all are!
In God/Source/Truth all experiences are equally valid. And as humans we have the right, freedom, and power to choose whatever we prefer – a life that truly matches our essence and thus is deeply fulfilling and enriching for us. The more truthfully we live according to our innermost Self, the better life feels. It really is that simple.
The more we let go of concepts like purpose or the need for external validation – through people or ‘results’ – releasing those layers of conditioning, the clearer, simpler, and more joyful our natural expression becomes. But it’s not about HAVING to let go, it’s about the freedom to choose what we prefer – and to enjoy this dance in our own unique way.
In truth, there is nothing to achieve, but so much to experience,
so many ways to experience and express ourSelf.
And maybe that is what we are seeking: the joy of meeting ourSelf,
our Divine essence, again and again in entirely new ways.
